epilepsy warning?

I've been asked to help a friend who wants to create a children's workbook for learning Irish.  They had already been talking about using frogs as their main characters, so developed that idea, first with sketches, before I built and rigged a quick concept character, for both the practice and development of the characters for the book. Working this way, changes can be made easily and quickly in Flash as the book is developed.

This is just a little something that
happened (mostly accidentally) on the side while I
was working.  Flash can do mad things sometimes.

sk

Another bit of practice work in flash, really just toying with ways of rigging up a character.  This one didn't turn out looking anything like what I meant to draw when I began, but as it was more to reinforce things in my mind I didn't fuss too much about what it looked like.

Pretty happy about how this has turned out, found that once I had rigged the whole thing the animation wasn't hard to block out and then just tweak.  Did a good job I think reminding myself how to use flash well, and learned a few things about it as I went too.
I like this character, and the way he is rigged, so I might keep working with it, or I could start another from scratch for the practice, but I think I will be sticking with flash for a while anyway.

flashy pigpen

A snapshot of what I began working on last night (or rather the wee hours of this morning).
Re-teaching myself Flash, designing and rigging this character for some simple animation.  Reminds me a little bit of "Pig-Pen" from Peanuts, sans the dust cloud..
More to follow soon!
